New Year – Improved Life – Change For A Better Life
When we come upon a new year it is often a time of reflection on how we can change for a better life. Perhaps things are going along fine at work and at home; but you long for continual improvement. On the other hand, things may not be going so well and the new year brings a time for us to focus on changing our ways – new year’s resolution. OlyLife encourages you to use the New Year as a time for identifying what is working well (keep doing those things) and what is not working so well (change those things.) As the famous quote goes (not sure who to credit) “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.” It may be time this new year for you to stop the insanity and to make the changes in your life that will bring lasting benefits.
New Year Resolutions – Dream Big But Implement With Small Steps
You may be unhappy with smoking, drinking, dishonor in relationships, lack of physical fitness, lazy or shoddy work at the office. Whatever your situation, don’t be afraid to dream big on your goals; but make sure that you immediately tie small actionable steps toward achieving those goals. If you choose do-able action steps and get accountability partners such as family, co-workers, doctors, friends and others to help encourage you and keep you on track; you will be more likely to succeed. Remember, you are not alone. In any endeavor, your heavenly Creator can help give you the internal strength to stay disciplined to staying true to the action steps which will translate your goal from words to actual results. A comforting verse in scripture is Psalm 23 where it says:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love (mercy) will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
