It’s A Dog Eat Dog World So We Should Take A Bribe Or Grease The Wheels Right?
You may be tempted to take a bribe out there on the way to getting ahead in your career or in your personal finances. Some may even be tempted to take a bribe as a reward for their hard work or just because “everyone’s doing it.” There are also times when a businessman may be asked to grease the wheels by sliding a bit of cash under the table in order to get a deal done. OlyLife cautions all to resist the urge to take a bribe or to offer a bribe as a way of short-cutting the process or assuring a win. The Good Book tells us in Exodus 23:8 “Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the righteous.” This wisdom tells us that justice is not getting done when we take a bribe or offer a bribe, as the truth is distorted.
Take A Bribe And It May Come Back To Bite You
If you take a bribe and let someone off the hook at work, it may come back to haunt you. If for example you discover that Sally took three hundred dollars from the petty cash fund over time, but she comes to you right away with three hundred for the fund and two hundred for yourself – no harm done right? Wrong, let’s suppose you take a bribe of the two hundred and six months later an accounting irregularity shows up and now there is some explaining to do on the original three hundred? Worse yet, there is another theft, and you are asked to cover it up or the person is going to tell them that you helped hide a previous theft and you will lose your job. The point is that bad behavior can lead to dire consequences and when you take a bribe, one wrong can lead to a whole lot of wrongs. If you do the right thing and say no, rather than take a bribe, you will be so much better off. Stay away from giving or accepting bribes and you will be closer to making the most of your one and only life – That’s OlyLife!
