You May Be Surrounded By Non-Believers
All of us were at some point non-believers either because we hadn’t reached an age of comprehension or we stubbornly resisted turning our life over to God. Perhaps, we did not even hear of the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus until later in life. Whatever the case, we all were (and many still are) non-believers. If you are living with a work environment or family that is full of non-believers, your life is tougher than if you were to be immersed in a group of Christ loving and Spirit Led Christians. Tougher because you may be asked by God in some cases to serve Him by sharing your faith in addition to exemplifying Christ in your behavior. OlyLife would like to encourage you to serve with humility and without hesitation when called to do so within the construct of a personal conversation when invited to do so. It is important that you do this in a way that does not contribute to making a co-worker feel uncomfortable or subject you to a case of creating a “hostile work environment”. If, however, a co-worker opens the door for a faith based conversation and you feel that God is prompting you to share your testimony or to speak a comforting word from the Bible it may be entirely appropriate. When there is a non-Christian environment you may feel that you might be ridiculed or subjected to scorn by some folks for your belief. We encourage you to follow in the footsteps of Paul who says in Acts 20:19 -21 “I served the Lord with great humility and with tears (fervor) although I was severely tested … You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you from house to house. I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus.”
You Don’t Have To Be A Church Preacher To Share The Good News – God Often Effectively Uses Regular Folks
You may feel a prompting to speak to others about the wonders of our awesome and mighty God, but second guess yourself because you are not a theologian or a preacher. OlyLife falls into the camp of regular folks who are just trying to encourage others to strengthen their spiritual walk with Christ, whether it is a new beginning or well worn path. If you feel God tugging on your heart to have a faith based conversation with a friend, we pray that you will allow the Holy Spirit to work through you in a way that will glorify your Father in Heaven. Don’t worry if you feel that you didn’t get an immediate affirmation after the conversation. God may yet use those Spirit Led words to stir your friends heart in the days or months ahead. The scripture promises us that our Spirit Led promptings will not go in vain. So, we encourage you to boldly yet humbly serve God when prompted to do so and when you do, you will be closer to making the most of your one and only life – That’s OlyLife!
