Anger Won’t Improve Your Life
If You would like a better life, then OlyLife suggests that you will be better served if you control your emotions and reduce the amount of time you spend being angry. Getting mad all the time is a downer, it doesn’t feel good and it doesn’t look good so take a moment to learn how to stop being mad and you will be making the most of your one and only life – That’s OlyLife! Here are three steps:
Three Steps to Controlling Anger
1. Call a Time Out – when you feel stressed over a situation, or during a communication with a co-worker, friend, family member etc. Take a minute to call a time out, get a few minutes away where you can think of how to handle what is getting under your skin and then calmly deal with the matter.
2. Put the emotions aside and go to logic – what is the root cause for my being upset? Communicate the issues in a logical manner. The team spent all weekend on the project only to learn that it is not what the boss wanted. It was poor communication that led to the first problem, don’t let it be repeated by blowing up and not figuring out how to prevent the problem going forward.
3. Don’t be afraid to accept responsibility for any relationship problems. We can all do a better job communicating. Perhaps if we communicated better, then folks would understand where we are coming from and we would become less annoyed.
If You Have Severe Anger Issues – Get Help
If you are always blowing up, then you may need to get help from a licensed professional who can help you understand the underlying issues and work with you to reduce the level of anger that you are feeling. Don’t let the problem get out of hand. Make a confidential appointment right away.
When You Don’t Get Mad – Others are Glad
Remember the above steps and you and those who you live and work with will be happier. Control your anger and you will be one step closer to making the most of your one and only life – That’s OlyLife!
