Academic Problems – How To Help
When you first learn that Johnny or Mary is not doing so well in school, that is the time when you should help improve life by getting him/her help early and often. But first, it’s important to assess whether or not there is a physical or mental issue that is inhibiting learning by having a professional evaluate your child. If there is no underlying medical reason for the less than stellar performance in school, then in OlyLife’s opinion, it is important not to wait to get some educational help to catch them up to the class.
Why Should I Get Help – It’s Just Elementary School?
In our opinion, an educated mind is like a snowball — the information you learn starts out small then gets bigger and bigger as you roll along. If you let your child go on to the next grade with a hand-sized snow ball, when his classmates now have a basketball sized snowball, it will only be harder as he or she tries to catch up and the grades may reflect that they have fallen behind.
Tutors = Improved Grades and Self Esteem
If your son or daughter is having difficulty in reading or math, tutor them yourself or (if you don’t have time) get them a tutor. If you can’t afford a tutor, you should find free help or make the time yourself. Inquire with your child’s school, your neighbors, family, or friends. A few meetings with a tutor can do wonders for your child!
Show Them Your Values
OlyLife believes that if you catch the problem early and teach your child how to learn and to develop good study habits, they will become good students. In addition, they will know that you value their education.
Help Them Believe in Themselves
Don’t let your child accept the fact that they can’t be an A student – most often, it’s not the case. It just may be that the child has to work harder and if you help him/her do so, you will be one step closer to making the most of your one and only life – That’s OlyLife!
Here are some great resources to help you get your child back on track and so read on and improve your one and OlyLife!
